Meeting Report - 6/11/2025

MCCC League Competition 2 - Mono with Richard Hainsworth

Richard Hainsworth joined us last night to judge our second competition of the year with the theme being mono. He gave a great introduction to his judging style and informed us that he would have to be quite picky in order to whittle it down to the top images and find a reason why only one wins. I think he was quite impressed with the standard of work and righty so. The images looked stunning on the big screen and I once again felt a wave of pride at the skills and artistic ability of our little club. Richard's feedback was both useful and fair and delivered in a sensitive way. I myself took on board his comments and have made the suggested amendments. As Richard pointed out judging is all subjective and he himself has had an image score both high and low in front of different judges. This is something that I have learned to embrace over he last few years of club photography and it has certainly helped me grow. I would urge our members to submit images to competitions, don't be afraid after all it's just one persons opinion.
